SIXTH GRADE BAND

(5-4)
Click  "In the Jungle" for a link to the music and a practice video to help you learn to play this fun song.

(5-4) It is marching season! Check out the Pasadena City College Honor Band that follows the Herald Trumpets performing in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade. They are playing "It Don't Mean a Thing if it Ain't Got that Swing", by Duke Ellington. Here is another short video of Duke Ellington's Band playing the song in 1943. (Duke Ellington plays the piano.) Notice the brass players using plungers and the improvised solos inspired by the melody.
